This page is dedicated to people like Tina Turner, Muhammed Ali, Michael Jackson, Mohatmas Gandhi, who rose from the ashes like a Phoenix. There are thousands more I admire and
will add on as I think of them.
I will also include great quotes from some of my heroes at the bottom of the right column.
A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose- Eckhart Tolle
Oprah Winfrey recommende this book as her all time lifef changing book. I can't agree more. When read with "The Power of Now" your life will change. Mine has.
I play this over and over more than any other while I am driving on my car's iPod.
The Voice of Knowledge, The Mastery of Love and The Four Agreements
This medical doctor/Native American Shaman writes a fabulous group of books. I would start anyone down the path with The Voice of Knowledge comfortably. It starts by
showing how every problem we have is of our own creation and how simple it is to break the chain. As with every other book it stresses that we are born perfect but our
fears instilled by others work against us. An easy read an so good for building a base from which to grow. The audio version read by Actor Peter Coyote is wonderful.
Conversations With God (books 1,2,3)
Enio's comment: As I have added more books I am combining all of Neale's books in one group. Best books I have ever read. Does not endorse any
particular religion. Finally finished the fifth book- yet I would recommmend anything by Neale Donald Walsch
Conversations With God - Book 1 was first pubished by Hampton Roads Publishing of Charlottesville,
Va. in May, 1995. It was reissued as a hard-cover in October, 1996 by G.P. Putnam's Sons and quickly
found its way to the New York Times best sellers list, where it remained for 137 weeks. Its first four
sequels, including CWG - Book 2, CWG - Book 3, Friendship With God and Communion With God, also made
that list. CwG has been translated into 34 languages and is sold in over 40 countries. The latest
dialogue book, Tomorrow's God, is available from Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. The
newest book in the series, What God Wants, will be released by Atria in March and may now be preordered
from Amazon.com or other online bookstores.
The messages in the books can be reduced to four sentences:
1. We are all one.
2.There's enough.
3. There's nothing we have to do.
4. Ours is not a better way, ours is merely another way.
The living of these four sentences could change the world.
Friendship With God
Neale Donald Walsch's 4th book is magnificent. You'll never look at yourself or anyone else the same again.
The essence of Neale Donald Walsch's message lies at the heart of faith--the sacred place in every person, where he stands alone with his God. Walsch
urges each of us to forge our own unique relationship with God, a God who is everywhere and speaks to us in all we do. It is up to us to stop and listen.
It is up to us to respond . . . to begin the conversation. And a conversation is the first step, just as in any relationship, in establishing trust, in
building friendship, in creating communion.
In Friendship with God, Neale Donald Walsch shares the next part of his journey, and leads us to deepen and strengthen our own bonds with God. He
honors our heart's desire:a closer connection, richer and fuller. A friendship with God.
Communion With God
Enio's note 1: I love this one the best. Even though I was given the book in audio tape form, I originally recommended the book because for me hearing the "Voice of God"
speak as Ed Asner, Ellen Burstyn and Neale Donald Walsch himself was a bit disconcerting as I kept picturing Ed Asner from his
Lou Grant wise guy days. Otherwise, It pulls all the various ideas from the first four groups into a neat package.
Enio's note #2 Two years later I keep coming back to the audio tape and playing it over and over. The illusions that we fool ourselves with are like dominoes.
After you understand one then it is easy to stop the rest from falling over.
`The highest authority lies within you. This is so because each of us has a direct connection to the Divine.'
This book talks about how to go Home. It discusses the experience of Oneness with the Divine, or what Neale Donald Walsch
calls Communion with God. It describes a path to that experience, a pathway through our illusions, to the Ultimate Reality.
It explains that, as human beings, we have created ten basic illusions or lenses through which to see ourselves and the world.
The trouble is, we have forgotten that they are illusions, and so we are living within them, instead of through them. What are
these illusions, and how do we remember the truth about who we really are? These questions are amply answered in the simple but
powerful style we have come to expect from Neale Donald Walsch's three `Conversations with God' volumes
The Five Languages of Love
I can think of no better gift to give any couple in love! or to anyone who wants to understand all personal relationships!
Over 50 months on the Bestseller List! Publishers Weekly recently recognized the spectacular performance of the original The Five Love
Languages for racking up such a length of time as a bestseller. First published in 1992, it has proved to be a godsend to millions
of readers who have taken to their hearts the simple truth that all humans long to feel loved. Dr. Gary Chapman's message not only speaks
straight to the needs of troubled spouses, but also simplifies and makes practical the ways to heal damaged relationships.
The Power of Now
Wow! This incredible book by Canadian Eckhart Tolle is incredibly powerful. Very much like the "Conversations" of Neale Donald Walsch series
this book will change your life if you are ready to go to the next level. Of all the ones I've read, I think it has the most potential for
personal growth but you have to want to change and grow.
The Dark Side of Light Chasers
I think nothing is as compelling as the three people who endorse this book on its first few pages.
Exceptionally compelling.
-Marianne Williamson
In this profound book, Debbie Ford systematically outlines the steps to wholeness and transformation.
-Deepak Chopra
Groundbreaking...Ford teaches us to recognize, embrace, and ultimately love all aspects of ourselves.
-Dean Ornish
FROM THE CRITICS Publishers Weekly
Everyone possesses the entire range of human traits and emotions"the saintly and the cynical, the divine and the diabolical, the courageous
and the cowardly" contends Ford, a faculty member of California's Chopra Center for Well-Being. The problem, as Ford (and Freud) define it,
is that in growing up, people suppress those behaviors, thoughts, feelings and characteristics that are unacceptable within their particular
environments. But rather than daily sessions on the couch, Ford advocates re-imagining and reclaiming lost aspects of self, urging readers
to "unconceal" and embrace those traits buried in their "shadow," in order to find their "gift." She offers exercises designed to bring such
traits to the surface, including directed self-questioning; listing one's characteristics for closer examination of positives and negatives;
and "discharging toxic emotions" physically. Her advice is often drawn from anecdotes of experiences with friends and in workshops that she
has taught or attended, and from her own struggles with various aspects of her personality. What some will see as disarming simple methodology
may seem shallow to those with a more analytical bent. But even those not looking for the "Resistant Rita," "Lovegirl Laurie," "My-way Marvin"
or "Competent Ken" locked inside them may find him or her in spite of themselves.

Debbie Ford spent 15 years of her life dependent upon drugs and alcohol, denying herself true happiness. She experienced the dark side of
herself (her shadow) and spent years in therapy desperately grasping for truth and fulfillment. Ford shows no restraint in the description
of her enlightened path. Her deliberate and convincing narration is delivered with a conviction to help others through her own "hard-knock"
discoveries. She tells the listeners how to embrace the darker corners of their souls to permit them wholeness and self-love. B.J.P. © AudioFile

This tiny book of only 112 pages by one of the preeminent spiritual teachers of out time, Paramahansa Yogananda, packs

The Little Soul & the Sun
At first glance this is a childrens book. In reality this book's message is incredibly powerful and if you want to work on forgiving anyone in
your life start here.
One reviewer writes: The Little Soul and the Sun is a simple and powerful story that brings children a very profound truth: there is not
absolute good or bad--that underneath all that happens in the world, all that we call "good" and all that we call "bad," is love. The
Little Soul and the Sun will help your child discover a God she or he can love, because God is love, as are all the Little Souls who are
a part of God and perhaps parents, too, will rediscover who they really are.
The Gift of Change
Maureen McDonald, freelance Detroit journalist, interviewed Marianne Williamson about her newly released work, The Gift of Change, Spiritual Guidance for
a Radically New Life (HarperCollins, $21.95 hardback).
Q. What gift in particular does change present to us?
A. Every experience we go through is a mirror. So if we aren't happy with our lives, every situation provides an opportunity to change our thoughts, create new
energies, and respond differently. Once you know that everything in your life arises from consciousness, you start to look pretty closely at what goes on between
your ears. Change that, and you can change your world.
Q. Can you tell us about one of the hardest experiences you encountered, knowing you must make a change?
A. My life hasn't worked that way. I haven't been real good at looking around and saying, "Oh, I need to change." My pattern has been more one in which I have
ignored that need, pressing on despite the fact that something wasn't working, and allowing a lot of chaos to get generated before I said, "Enough." If you
ignore what you know to be true when God has whispered it in your ear, then the universe will ultimately start screaming at you until you get it. That's been
my way, more often than not. I'm one of those "contentious" people they talk about in the Bible! Hard-headed girl.
Q. Why do people today seem to suffer so much pain? You've talked in lectures about the dangerous number of women taking antidepressants. Can we
individually and collectively create a shift?
A. I don't think we're in more pain than usual; I just think we're more aware of it. And we're in pain because the world is out of sync with God, with
love, with natural and righteous living -- whatever you want to call it. Most people know that. And we make a shift by correcting the thoughts and
attitudes that create the pain. But the shift is a gradual process that never stops; there are no silver bullets in the spiritual realm. We have to
be continually devoted -through religion, spirituality, whatever practice or healing modality works for us. We're seeking to penetrate veils of illusion
that have literally taken ages to accumulate. But we can do it. And the bottom line is always forgiveness and love. Until there's that insight, the pain
continues.
Q. How do we dig deep, arise from wallowing in the negative?
Every day, we have a chance to live from lower energies or higher ones. We can blame or we can bless; we can judge or we can forgive; we can complain
or we can contribute. Those choices determine who we are in the world, and what kind of world we're creating for ourselves and those around us.
Most of us know what to do, we're just too lazy sometimes to do it. Whether it's reading A COURSE IN MIRACES every day, or going to the gym, the issue
is usually our need to resist the little voice that says, "Hey, why bother." When we don't give in to our littleness, and make a stand for our spiritual
magnitude, things change.
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Midwest Book ReviewDeepak Chopra's teachings are distilled into seven simple principles which can be applied to all elements of personal life
to evoke success. The basic idea is that personal understanding and harmony promote fulfilling relationships and material abundance without extra
effort: chapters tell how to achieve it.
Deepak Chopras best-selling guide to creating abundance
and prosperity is now on CD and read by the author. Based on seven natural laws that govern all creation, this book shatters the myth that success
results only from hard work, exacting plans, and driving ambition. Deepak Chopra offers a life-altering
perspective on attaining success: Once we understand our true nature and learn to live in harmony
with these natural laws, well-being, good health,
fulfilling relationships, energy and enthusiasm for life, and material abundance can be achieved. Simple yet profound, the books
timeless wisdom and practical steps can be
applied with surprisingly quick results.
Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
I think this book is mis-named. I think it should be called "What Guys Feel and How Guys Think".
It is a collection of letters mostly written
by guys with commentary and suggestions by talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Girls if you think you understand guys you'll be surprised how
off the mark you might be once you've read this book.
Dr Atkins Diet Revolution
It's hard to have a positive spiritual image when you have a negative physical self image. I was introduced to this diet in 1980 when my dad lost
24 lbs in one month. I subsequently tried it and it was the best diet I have ever been on. For twenty years people told me all about the dangers
of low carb high fat diets as it was called then. 25 years later it is all the fad. What impresses me about Dr. Atkins was that it is not a diet
but a lifestyle change. I was able to stay on it easily when I needed to lose weight but more importantly by following his principles
I could
keep myself in maintenance mode and not have huge weight swings. I would highly recommend this diet for people who don't have strong willpower.
But I will recommend what I have for 25 years. Don't start it unless you read his book cover to cover. It will improve your success rate tremendously.
A Course in Miracles- A Return To Love
Ten Years ago my sister gave me a set of audio tapes entitled Return To Love- A Course in Miracles written by Marianne Williamson When she gave it to me,
I played about 10 minutes of it and promptly stuffed it in a cabinet to be read when I "had time". Had I played the tape a little
further I would have heard the author recount how she did the same thing with A Course in Miracles only to pick it back up years and many crises later.
As Marianne says: This is a Course in Miracles
it is a required course, only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean you can establish the curriculum, it means only that
you can elect what you want to take at a given time. Although I have her full set of tapes, I have not read the books. She is such an extraordinary
speaker that I think her voice adds something special. What I love is that I can play these in my iPod or in my car and travel with them.
